Happy Father’s Day Dad!!!

There are many great things about my Father.  He is good with fixing cars, carpentry, fishing, hunting, and just about anything a dad should be good at.  As a kid I took him for granted many times as I went off to play basketball or baseball with the kids in the neighborhood.  I wish I would have taken more time to learn from him.  He helped me to start my first business, and he supported me in sports and other endeavors.  I’m so thankful that God put me in my family and put such a wonderful man as my authority.

My dad lost his dad when he was about 8 years old.  I’ve recently been watching some children that have lost their mother and no matter how great the kids are, you are always wondering how they could make it without such a wonderful parent.  I’m spoiled to have had my dad for each of my 41 turns around the sun.  I know that many folks don’t have parents still with them, and if they are the chances of both parents still being married is fewer still.  I know that my father is flawed, and has had days in his life that I’m sure were hard.  I’m sure of that because I’m short on perfection myself.  But one thing I’ve never doubted is the love of my dad.  He has always been there for me and always wanted the best for me.

Fathers my prayer for all of you is that you love your children with all your heart.  That you would put everything you could into their lives.  That you would introduce them to Jesus Christ, and if you are blessed enough to one day baptize them praise God.  Dad’s you are the closest thing to a God Like figure your sons will know this side of heaven.  This is a big responsibility.  Make sure that you do your best with the blessings God has given you.    Dad thank you so much for me never having to doubt your love for me.

(The Photo above was taken at Texas Motor Speedway in Fall of 2015.  It was the last time my dad and I saw Jeff Gordon as an active driver (our favorite driver).  I needed to get a die cast signed so that I would have one for each of my boys.  As you can see dad and I both got one that day.  Fathers doing fun things together for their sons hard to beat that.  What a great day!)

How Much Are You Worth?

Do you know how much you are worth?

The world says I’m worth $XXX because that is what my Assets – Liabilities equals.

The World says I’m worth $XXX because that is what my pay stub says.

The God of the universe says that I’m worth the blood of his sinless son Jesus Christ.

Remember that there are many things that the world passes on and tosses into antique shops.  Only to be found by someone that knows it’s true worth.  Is it’s worth what the person tossing it away says it is worth, or is it worth the amount that the one that finds it, cherishes it, restores it, and proudly displays it believes?

You are more valuable than that antique, you are an adopted son of the Most High God!  Paid for with the Blood of Jesus Christ.  That is your Value, That is your Worth.

Hebrews 10:22

Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Lord Jesus,

Thank you so much for your love.  Thank you for cleansing me of all my sins.  Thank you for giving me assurance of eternal life.  Continue to cleanse my heart from guilt, shame, and fear.  Lord Jesus I draw near to you not because of my goodness, but because of your grace.  Because of your everlasting love.  Because you are who you are.  Heavenly Father all that I am is because of You.  All that I will be is because of You.  Lord Jesus I look to you, I get warmth from you, I draw near to you as you continue to surprise me with your Love.

Noah’s First Race Texas Spring Race 2018

Noah’s first NASCAR Race was a crazy success.  Now as many of you know I’m a big Jeff Gordon Fan, and Noah is a Huge Joey Logano Fan.  On this day the two of us went out to Texas Motor Speedway to pick up a few autographs and a Jimmie Johnson Bobble Head.  We were hoping to leave with Chase Elliott, Ryan Newman, Alex Bowman, and Kyle Larson who were hanging out at the Chevy Stage. By the end of the day we met those and then some.  Here are some of our favorite memories or “Trophies” from the day.

 

 

That’s right folks!  My Dad, My Son, and I met Jeff Gordon and he signed a diecast for each of us.  The 200 Year Dupont car is special to me because me and my dad went to Daytona in 2002 and that was the car Jeff signed for Noah.  The GED PLUS raced version is cool because it was Jeff’s only win at Texas Motor Speedway our home track.  The Superman is the car my dad got signed and that was Noah’s favorite.

Noah also got to meet Joey Logano, he was so nice as usual and he signed two cards for Noah.  We met 2 NASCAR Legends Bobby Allison and Richard Petty, and we also met some young guns like Daniel Suarez, Bubba Wallace (When Noah said Bubba Wallace?  He replied “Who said that” because he couldn’t see Noah), Austin Dillon & Ryan Blaney.  Kasey Kahne, Aric Almirola also signed for us and one of Bowman’s crew guys tossed Noah a hat from the race.  All in All this was the best first race someone could ask for.  3 Generations of Dad/Son Time and meeting some of the nicest guys to strap into a stock car…and oh yea, we got the Jimmie Bobble Head too!

Lamentations 3:19-26

Today might not be great but wait on the Lord.

“I remember my affliction and my wandering,  the bitterness and the gall.  I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me.  Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:  Because of the Lords’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning:  great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself.  “The Lord is my portion:  therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him:  It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”        – Lamentation 3:19-26

Healing

Lord,

I pray that today humanity is healed from the disease of our time…Sin.  I pray that today humanity would not act so human, and conform to the likeness of Jesus Christ to act more Godly.  I pray that we would be a people that would forgive before we let anger take root and waste more of our lives.  Lord I pray that you would help me along with all others to fix our eyes on the big picture (Jesus), and off of the little picture (ourselves).  Lord heal our hearts, heal our lands, heal our minds, and our souls.  Jesus you have won victory at Calvary for all who believe,  Please bring more sheep into your flock today.  Without the Love of Christ we are broken, we need fixed, we need the healing power of the Trinity.  Holy Spirit change us, Father God help us, Jesus inspire us to live for you.  Lord I look around today and humanity looks so……human.  Help us to live the life you want for us, a divine life.

How do I receive this gift of Salvation

I wanted to do a post on how does one receive the gift of Salvation.  My favorite Bible verse is Eph 2:8-10 and in it is says that Salvation is a gift.  How does one get this gift.  To help me explain this I went to Bibleinfo.com , I’ve included the link below to the specific page.  The rest of this post is from that website and I wanted to credit them for the explanation.  My comments below will be in red.

Receive Jesus’ death for your sins. It’s in the Bible, Romans 10:9-10, NKJV. “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Notice nobody will repent that doesn’t believe.  Confession is an act of Belief.

Repent and confess your sins. A powerful, personal response to the gospel is “repenting” or feeling sorry for our sins, confessing them, and turning away from them. It’s in the Bible, Acts 2:37-38, NKJV. “Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  Notice the heart is again involved as God uses it to convict sinful man.  The response of Faith is Obedience.  They repented or turned away from their sin, they were baptized or outwardly confessed Christ.

It’s in the Bible, 1 John 1:9, NKJV. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Folks this is not good advice,  This is a Promise from the WORD of GOD!  Repent and Ask Christ to rule your Heart.  Depend on Him and His work on the Cross for your salvation.  There is nothing we can add to that.  Remember it’s not the works of man that determine his final resting spot, it is Lamb’s Book of Life.  Those that trust in Christ have their names written in this book.  Those that don’t trust in Christ don’t have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and will reside in Hell.  Accept God’s Promise of Everlasting Life.  Trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
